Our DIY Halloween 2012 Costumes

We always make our own Halloween costumes (for the most part). Usually I find one stinkin' cheap costume at the store, and plan the rest of the costumes around that. This year, my son got a Buzz Lightyear getup (Disney Store) from my in-laws for his birthday and he decided that was what he wanted to wear for halloween. (All I had to do was add white sweats underneath!) So, with that, I HAD to have Lily dress up as Jessie, from Toy Story. I found the tutorial from this pinterest link.

The WHOLE Jessie costume only put me out about $5! :
-The hat was from the dollar store (ribbon added).
-The clothing pieces were Jack's that he'd out grown, and I added the felt and cow print (with washable fabric glue).
-Belt was made from felt
-Cowboy slippers were a $2 thrift find!

The Hubby and I went as Jack Skellington and Sally from "The Nightmare Before Christmas." ( This picture is a little more frightening, so I didn't make it as big :)

I would love to hear about what homemade costumes you did this year!!!
