Neighbor Gifts: Homemade Caramel

This is a pretty easy idea for neighbor gifts during the holidays. All you need is a large stock pot and as many cans of sweetened condensed milk as you would like to turn into caramel!

Remove the labels and boil your sweetened condensed milk for three hours! I made my own little labels. I forget to take a picture of the back. I put another label on the back that said "Made with love by the Sperrys." Read more

Dude's Winter Hat

I busted this out for my lil' bro's birthday this last week. I was kinda trying to make it a little more trendy than the traditional beanie, but I really like how it turned out.

(He looks particularly happy in this picture--must be all those presents).

DIY Napkin Rings

I hope you all had a wonderful Thanksgiving holiday! I made a craft that actually benefited our ginormous feast!

I have heard of people making their own napkin rings from a paper towel roll. I decided to adapt the idea a bit since paper towel rolls aren't very sturdy. For my napkin rings, I used the roll from my empty saran wrap. It's much tougher, but harder to cut.

I glued some scrapbook paper onto the rings and made some paper flowers that a cute lady from my ward taught me how to make. (Thanks Michelle)! I Mod Podged everything (including the flowers) since it's basically a given they'll be spilled on in our house!

I am totally in love with these flowers! They're so easy to make, they're just circles!

My dad did a little craft of his own! Check out this bread basket that he used as our centerpiece!

DIY Birthday Calendar

I have been wanting to make one of these for a long time! It's so hard to keep all the birthdays straight in my head and this calendar is the perfect solution! I cut out some cute little images from my Silhouette to doll it all up. I'm not so good at the scrapbooking thang, but I'm happy with the way this turned out!

Here are some of the pages...

Rebel of Cornucopias

I have never liked cornucopia decor. BUT. I found a way to join in the Thanksgiving festivities with my own twist of the traditional centerpiece.

So I turned this pile of junk (purchased from the dollar store, except for the cornucopia).

Into my own celebration of Thanksgiving that even I can appreciate.

All it took was some paint, a paper mat, and a TON of patience (the fake produce took a gazillion coats of paint).
