Stenciled Dandelion Dresser and GIVEAWAY!

I was just thinking about buying a white dresser for my daughter, when my neighbors who were moving, asked us if we'd like this white dresser they were just going to get rid of. Crazy!

I did a Dandelion stencil from Cutting Edge Stencils. By the way, they have to most amazing selection of stencils to choose from. It's the best place for any DIY decorating stencils.

Cutting Edge Stencil is giving one lucky winner a stencil up to a value of $50! (Yes, that's fifty bones, ladies!  SCROLL DOWN for details.)

Dresser BEFORE:

What I used:
-Cutting Edge Dandelion Stencil in Large
-Cutting Edge paint roller and brush
-Painter's tape
-Acrylic paint in gray and light purple

Here is a video that is a super-duper help when learning how to do stenciling:

 1. You start by taping your stencil on with (preferrably the blue painter's tape, but mine was M.I.A) painter's tape. Cutting Edge also had a great suggestion to use adhesive spray on the back of the stencil. I totally did it and it made the process SO SIMPLE.

2. I used the Cutting Edge paint roller technique with their roller. I thought it worked perfect. I did the paint brush technique with the smaller dandelion seeds, and I also found that to work well for something small stencils..

3. After doing the gray, I decided this girlie dresser needed some girlie color! So I used the stencil again, overlapping the first dandelion slightly, with light purple.

 I put a few dandelion seeds up at the top corner of the dresser to make it seem like the seeds were floating away, carelessly.

Best Healthy Popcorn Recipe!

         Anything that makes eating healthy easier should be shared with everyone! My hubby and I really try to eat healthy most of the time, so we always have our radar on the search for delicious, but healthy "treats". I actually came up with this recipe because I'm a popcorn addict by nature, so I feel like I'm cheating when I sit down to large bowl of this delicious recipe.

 Pin It

What you will need:
-Orville Redenbacher Popper (this type of popper makes the popcorn crunchier than air poppers)
-a handful of popcorn kernels
-I Can't Believe It's Not Butter --Spray
-Butter Flavored Popcorn Salt ( I like the Jolly Time brand the best).

1. Pop the kernels in the microwave on the popcorn setting. (Mine is done 30 seconds before the popcorn setting finishes though, so listen for when the popcorn starts to slow down--about 1 second between pops).
2. Begin pouring popcorn into another, larger, bowl. As you pour, liberally spray your popcorn down with fake butter :)
3. Sprinkle with Butter seasoning and lightly toss. Add a teensy bit more to the top after you toss.

It takes a couple of batches to get it with just the right amount of seasoning that you like!
But that's ok, because this whole batch is only around 100 calories!

Saturday Spotlight #91: Pledge Giveaway!

Free antibacterial cleaner anyone?

So yeah, what does this have to do with crafting?
Well, as much as we would like to craft 24/7, we gotta take a break and do some cleaning! Right?

So Pledge sent me this AWESOME new Multi-Surface II Antibacterial Cleaner that I just fell in love with.

          This is the first the first antibacterial product that kills 99.9 percent of germs including bacteria like staph, E.-coli and salmonella and viruses like influenza (the Flu). It can be used to sanitize ALL kinds of surfaces. Wood, metal, glass, even electronics...and more.Personally, I totally loved the spray nozzle. It's not your average squirt bottle. It sprays a super fine mist that can be evenly distributed.

One winner will receive:
* Cleaning caddy
* CUTE gloveable cleaning gloves
* Pledge branded dust cloth
* Pledge Multi-Surface II Antibacterial Cleaner

You wanna win some of this!
