Silhouette Giveaway ends TODAY!!! Fall Project Tutorial

Hey friends!  Just wanted to remind you to stop by Mom It Forward today and enter the giveaway for the Silhouette SD!  It ends tonight at midnight EST.  You don't want to miss it!

Here is the tutorial I shared with the Mom It Forward readers this week.  Hope you enjoy it!

Today I’d like to share with you a project inspired by a walk I had with my girls.  We kept finding such beautiful leaves, in all different colors, and they decided to bring them home.  So I thought, why not hang up these beautiful findings to celebrate Fall?  It would also give me the opportunity to try out the Silhouette SD!  What an amazing machine!  Installing it was cake, and after checking out the tutorial on their website, using it was as easy as can be.  I decided to use it for vinyl cutting, so here we go:
What you"ll need:
- 3 sheets of cute scrapbook paper
- 3 wood frames
- 3 acrylic paint colors of your choice
- vinyl (for lettering)
- pretty ribbon in fall colors
- pretty leaves you've pressed for a few days
- staple gun
Not pictured:
- sponge brushes, laminator, scissors, double sided tape
1. Cut scrapbook paper to shape of frames Match leaves to your favorite background and attach it with double sided tape.
2. Laminate your leaves and trim lamination to fit your picture frames.
3. Paint each of your frames and let it dry.  This is a good time to decide which background will go with each frame.
4. This is where the Silhouette came in!  I just chose what I wanted to write on my frames and what font I wanted to use.  Place your vinyl on the tray and that's it!  The Silhouette did the rest!  Carefully remove the letters from the tray and place them on your frame however you want.
Don't they look awesome?
5. Turn your frames upside down, measure the distance you'd like to leave in between each frame, and pull out your ribbon.

Make sure to staple at the top and bottom of each frame so it will hang nicely.

There is your beautiful fall project!
I'm sure it will look great on your wall at home.  I loved working with the Silhouette, and I'm sure you will too!

  1. What a great project in and of itself, but I especially love projects that are tied to things we've done with the people we love.
