Earring to Necklace Tutorial

Can you believe I used to wear these earrings? I mean they are cute. But if I wore earrings like this all the time I would have nasty saggy old lady ears by the time I'm thirty!

BUT!
Instead of getting rid of them...

I used one of them to make a necklace!
((Ok, don't judge my pasty white skin).

I got the super long chain from Michael's for like three bucks and that was all that I had to buy!

Silhouette Rhinestone Onesie!

I recently acquired the Silhouette Rhinestone Starter kit which I absolutely LOVE!
I have another shirt tutorial over at Mom It Forward, so be sure to check that out.

I totally think a bedazzled onesie would make a perfect baby shower gift! Don't you!?

I know my baby girl loves hers...see, I caught her sunbathing in it!

Chalkboard Menu

This week I decided to join a local MOPS group and this week we did a craft! This is a menu tray made from a cookie sheet.

It is painted with chalkboard paint. I used twine for edging around the paint. The Monday through Friday magnets are corks cut in half and then stamped with a letter. It was so much fun to make!

Microwave Caramel Recipe

I love this recipe because it's the only caramel recipe that has ever turned out for me. Usually my caramels are too runny, but this recipe is extremely simple!

2 cubes butter
1 c. brown sugar
1 c. white sugar
1 c. Karo syrup
1 can sweetened condensed milk

Melt butter in a bowl; add sugar and syrup. Stir well; dd milk and stir. Microwave on high for 12-14 minutes (I did 14 min). Beat with hand mixer for two minutes. Pour into pan, 9x13 inches. Let cool for 1 1/2 to 2 hours. Cut and wrap in wax paper. Read more

Book of Faces

I have been wanting to make this little book of faces since my little Jack was like a newborn...
Turns out I didn't get to it until I had a second newborn!

The point of this book is to A) teach my toddler the names of our family and friends, and B) to get my baby familiar with faces.

I also added stickers with letters on them so even later I can teach my little boy " 'M', is for mama" and so forth.
