Baby Barefoot Sandals

I found these crochet barefoot sandals on Pinterest and I simply could not resist. I LITERALLY, dropped everything, and began crocheting...

I like to dress my lil girl up, and these were the perfect accessory for her to wear around and still be comfy!

It was probably the easiest crochet project I have ever done. I've made my little Lily crochet sandals before, but since these don't even have soles, they were way faster.

You can find the pattern here.
(I did my flower different from the one in this pattern).

Dude's Winter Hat

I busted this out for my lil' bro's birthday this last week. I was kinda trying to make it a little more trendy than the traditional beanie, but I really like how it turned out.

(He looks particularly happy in this picture--must be all those presents).

Crocheted Fashion Beanie

Ok I'm totally a beginner crochet person so naturally I'm proud of pretty much everything I finish. I made this adult size cap and then I made two smaller ones for newborn to three months but I can't post them yet since they're going to be gifts ;)

Don't ask how I made them...I couldn't tell ya.

Crochet flowers everywhere!

Good Morning everyone!  It's Vanessa today, first of all, reminding you that today is the LAST DAY for you to enter our CSN.com $40 gift certificate GIVEAWAY!   Tomorrow morning Nicholette will be announcing the winner, so you'll want to stop by! Good luck to everyone who has entered, and if you haven't yet, get to it!

Now, I'm so excited to share with you what I've been working on for the last 3 weeks.
Aren't these cute?  I crocheted my little heart out on these!

Here's a close up of my flowers.  They are hard little flowers to make, but I have conquered them! :) What did I do with my project?

Welcome to my kitchen!  I really wanted something over my sliding doors, now they match!  Cute.  I should have made a longer runner for my table... sigh.  Next time, maybe.

There you have it.  Now I'm ready to join the craft world again.  I have a ton of ideas I am dying to work on as soon as I finished this project, so look forward to some fun stuff in the next few weeks.  I can't wait!

Crocheted necklace - GORGEOUS!

Here I come again, with another great invention made by my Grandma Mimi.  Check this necklace out!
Isn't it so cool?  I love it so much!  She crocheted the entire thing and put it together.  This is one she'll definitely have to teach me how to make before she goes back to Brazil.

Up close, I love that flower and that awesome "wheel"  (I don't know what to call it) next to it.  So fun.

Really sucky picture, but I just had to have you see what it looks like on.  It totally makes an outfit!  I can't wait what else she'll come up with.

Crocheted Rug - Beautiful work!

First off, I need to say how excited I am!  We have hit over 300 followers!!! WOW!!!  Thanks so much to all our followers, we are so happy that you're out there and that you enjoy our work!

Now, check this out:
This is a rug.  Would you have the courage to step on it?  I sure wouldn't!  Isn't it beautiful?  My grandmother, her name is Noemi, but I call her Mimi,  made this as a gift for me!  No wonder I love all things made of yarn, it's in my genes!

I love these flowers!  I really want her to come over and just try and soak up all her knowledge and talents.  I can't wait to get some one on one time with her and learn all her tricks.

She's made two different colors, I really like the orange border, even though both are just amazing!  So I'm thinking... do you think I can pull these off as a wall hanging instead of a rug on my floor?  I'm going to try.  I couldn't dare step on it, or let other people do it, it's too pretty!

Fabric flower necklace

Hello friends!  I just finished this very fun little fabric flower necklace.  It took me less than an hour, and it turned out really cute!  It was inspired by my fabric flowers I made the other day, here is the tutorial.

I crocheted a chain out of a thick nylon yarn, long enough for my neck.  Then, I made the big flower just like the tutorial above, and the little circles are made from our tie headband flowers, the tutorial for that is here.

Next, I stitched the big flower and the little ones on to the chain, and that's that!  I just tie a bow in the back, and done.

I have to say that I really like how it turned out.  Really cute, and it matched my outfit :)

See?  I hope you'll give it a try, I used stuff I already had around the house, I love it when my crafts don't cost a thing!

Scarf From Crocheted Flower Pattern!

The inspiration for this scarf design came from a pattern for crocheting flowers!

I learned how to do the crocheted flower from a wonderful tutorial by Teresa at Crochet Mania. I am terrible at crocheting and I was able to do this!
The only thing I did differently was making the chain long enough to pass as a scarf. My base chain was 200 stitches long. Follow the awesome tutorial and you'll have a super stylin' skinny scarf!!

Curly Whirly Scarf and Pattern

I just made this very fun scarf for Nicholette's birthday, but couldn't wait till her actual birthday to give it to her!  Actually, my 4 year old daughter told on me and ruined the surprise.  Oh well, this way I get to post about it now instead of later.  Check out Nicholette wearing her very fun and fuzzy curly whirly scarf!

Here is the pattern I used to get it to curl on its own like that:
I used:
6 skeins of Fun Fur Prints by Lion Brand ( these skeins are so small!) in Confetti
5.5mm crochet hook

Crochet a base chain for however long you want your scarf to be.
Row 1: Double crochet to the end (DC in every single chain)
Row 2 & 3: Treble crochet twice into each chain (increasing the rows)
Row 4: Treble crochet once into each chain
Row 5: Double crochet once into each chain
There you have it!

I think she liked it, don't you?
Happy Birthday Dude!  Love ya!

iPod Nano Cozy: Tutorial

This cozy is so easy and quick if you know how to crochet! I just sat down and started creating and this is what I came up with! It's pretty much like making a scarf with double stitches,  but you fold it in half and then crochet it up on the sides. I did mine 15 stitches wide. Keep your iPod handy to check measurements.

To make the flower...

1. Make a slip knot and chain 5
2. Connect the ends to create a circle with a slip stitch.
3. To create the pedals, chain five and attach to the next stitch. Repeat until you have five pedals.
4. Tie off and snip off, voila!

If anyone would like a more in depth tutorial on the flower let me know and I can make a video. Read more

Baby Beanie!

I saw a beanie like this when I was out shopping one day so I decided to try it out! It turned out to be really easy! All you have to do is crochet a beanie but don't reduce all the way to close it up at the top. Leave a little "tube" and start crocheting up and then start reducing again, but not as quickly. I crocheted about five rows and then reduced by just one. Crochet five rows, reduce by one, crochet five rows without reducing again, reduce by one again, etc. If that doesn't make sense send me an email and I can give more detailed instructions!
