Baby Girl Crocs: Refashioned

I found these cute itsy bitsy crocs that I just HAD to buy for a gift. The only problem was...they just weren't quite girly enough...

So I added my own personal touch and this is what I ended up with!

I was pretty pleased with how they turned out :)

Fabric Flower Shoes

Here we are again with another shoe makeover! This is another $1 pair of flats from Walmart  that I decided definately needed something to class them up! I didn't take a before picture which I was kinda sad about, but just picture these shoes with just a little bow on the top.

 What I used:
-fabric from the inside of a tie (kinda looks like burlap)
-pearl looking beads
-scissors
-needle and thread

1. The first thing I did was cut out four circles to create the pedals. I decided later to cut out four smaller circles to add volume to my flower.
2. Then, I folded the circles over twice and put a few stitches in them.
3. Stitch the sides of the pedals together to make a flower. Then layer the flower by stitching the smaller pedals onto the larger ones.
4. Stitch the flower onto your shoe with a pearl and YOUR DONE!!
I LOVE IT!

Fabric Covered Shoes

It must unofficially be shoe week! But the best crafts are ones you can wear! I have another shoe refashion for ya! So you'll never guess what I covered these shoes in...
guess...

Inside out basketball shorts! I used the inside because the outside had sort of horizontal lines in the fabric. I figured that would look terrible if I didn't have the fabric layed out perfectly over the shoes.

Here's what I used:

-One pair of $1 flats from Walmart (it was a lucky day)
-Pair of black basketball shorts ( I didn't really like the length)
-Hot glue gun
-Super glue
-Scissors
-Ribbon from the $1 bin at Michael's
Needle and Thread

1. First I cut off the little bow that was on top to get the top surface as flush as possible.

2. I cut the largest possible peices from the shorts (should be four separate pieces if you go around the seams).
....and remember to be a good mom and keep an eye on your kids...

3. Lay the fabric over the shoe and cut a similar shape to your shoe leaving some room for error.

4. Start glueing with super glue. I started at the top of the shoe because I wanted to make these little pleats on the top. I don't know if that's the best place to start or not, but that's what I did!

5. For the pleats, I just scrunched three little folds together and super-glued in between the folds.

6. Once you have glued all the fabric around the outside edges of your shoes, you can cut a slit on the inside of the shoe. Hot glue the fabric on a small part of the inside of your shoes all the way around.

7. I did a ribbon flower and sewed it over the tip of my pleats.

Another shoe makeover!

I've been inspired by all the cute shoe makeovers I've seen in blogland, and here is my own humble version.
BEFORE:
I got these very cool looking purple shoes (it looks blue here, but trust me, it's purple) for $1 at Walmart.  They look like they're $1 don't they?

Not anymore!  Now it looks very cute!  These flowers were very easy to make, I found the tutorial for them here.  These shoes are so cute!  I can't wait to wear them.

Not bad for $1.00, is it?

Granny to Gorgeous Shoe Craft!

I recently got a bunch of cheap flats from Walmart in a discount bin for a buck! The pair I am featuring today looked like grandma's curtains to me...but felt like they had potential.  So I added just a little something that I thought made a world of difference!...

From this...

 To this...

What do you think? Maybe they're still kinda weird but I REALLY like 'em!

I didn't take pictures along the way like I should have. BUT! I can tell you what I did, it's very simple.

*Remember the ribbon earrings back during Earring Week? It's the same idea except for you do about twice the amount of ribbon in length to get it all bunched up.*

1. Run a thread through the side of about 14" of 1-1.5" thick ribbon.

2. Pull the thread so the ribbon is all scrunched together.

3. Sew on your flats!

Felt Car Booties

These booties are cheap, easy to make, so set aside an afternoon and make a boy craft!
Here is what you will need:
-1 sheet each of red, black, gray, and blue    $.29/each
-Hot glue or applique glue, on hand
-Needle and thread, on hand
-scissors, on hand

1. Measure a piece of fabric to your little boy's foot and add another 3/4 to an inch. Cut in the shape of a shoe sole.

  2. Cut two ovals for the tops of the shoes, about an inch around the edges larger than the sole.

 3. Cut a slit long-ways in the oval up to two inches from the edge (this will be the two edge).

 4. Begin sewing on the toe edge and sew back to the heel.

5. You will want to bunch the larger oval as you sew a little to get it to stick up for room for the foot.

 6. Cut out eight black circles for tires and smaller gray circles for wheels.

 7. I didn't get a picture of this step, but from the blue, cut out two wind shields.

 8. Cut the very tops off of a pair of black socks and sew to the tops of the red shoes.
